      Remarks & Notes
Assigned to switching duty at Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal in the early ‘90s is Amtrak CF7 594. This engine was built by EMD in December 1953 as Santa Fe F7A 277C, which was a freight engine. As the railway’s F-units were deemed surplus they were sent to the Santa Fe’s locomotive shops in Cleburne, Texas, to be rebuilt into CF7 ("Converted F7") locomotives for use on locals. It emerged from Cleburne in January 1973 as ATSF CF7 2584, and was later sold to Amtrak. (Los Angeles, California – June 12, 1992) Click HERE to see this engine in 2017.
