Remarks & Notes

My first track side view of an SAR 4-8-4!. "Ilise" is seen hurrying a north bound passenger train for Kimberly. Although only 3'6" gauge speeds of 70MPH were not unknown. This was taken on the first of about 14 trips to South Africa.
