| The VSOE was diverted twice on Saturday 16th Dec 2006. This was originally a Surrey Hills excursion, but diverted to Kent (Whitstable) due to engineering works. Then diverted via Maidstone and Canterbury due to a fatality in the Meopham area.
How did we manage before mobile 'phones, thanks to Brian Stephenson for letting me know the train had passed his house on the Maidstone Ashford line, whilst I was waiting in the Faversham area! Just made it to Chartham for this last minute shot. Note the 1888 tower. |
