| The first of two Doncaster to Cardiff football specials on this date, 1Z41 was hauled by the EWS 'executive train' locomotive in a one-off silver livery. Chepstow is on the route between Gloucester and Severn Tunnel Junction which sees reasonable volumes of daylight freight (including steel and fuels) and is particularly worth visiting when the Severn Tunnel is closed for maintenance causing traffic to be diverted via Gloucester. |
