| Pan Shot Early American attempts to break the rail speed record were made at Mt Washington but speeds in excess of 20 mph were not achieved. It was believed the downhill runs would be more sucessful... All kidding aside, the railroad did have a sled (one of which is preserved at the site), known as the Devil's Shingle, which allowed desent within 15 minutes although a record speed of 3 minutes has been claimed! |
