| Alray Tunnel #1 - 30 Years Ago. Santa Fe light power (two GP30s and three GP35s) move westbound on the North Track at Alray approaching the east portal to tunnel #1, the upper tunnel. This view is looking west through the tunnel in July 1978.
BNSF installed a third main track parallel to the alignment of the lesser-grade North Track through Cajon Pass between Keenbrook and Summit which resulted in the removal of both tunnels at Alray during March 2008.
