| A special Grand Trunk Corporation - Milwaukee Road inspection train rolls out of the Twin Ports en route to Chicago. The GTC purchase of the Milwaukee fell through (to the Soo) but CN got its direct Duluth-Chicago connection almost exactly 20 years later when it purchased the Wisconsin Central in 2001. |
