UP 8683 still with no patch on the nose leads the #11 Coast Starlight. Problems with the lead locomotive had Amtrak riddled with problems. Since Caltrain didn't have any available locomotives, UP allowed Amtrak to Use 8683 off of the San Jose local for Power.
