California Steel Industries switches a portion of the old Kaiser Fontana Steel Plant. While CSI doesn't make steel slabs (that part of the plant is now the California Speedway), they turn steel slabs into a multitude of products. In order to switch all that steel, they acquired, with the infrastructure, the old Kaiser plant railroad and switchers. SW1500 32-005 began life as Rock Island #940 in July of 1966.
