| Southern Pacific "Cadillacs" (SD9s) and a "Crud" (SW1500) in Guadalupe Yard. The Cadillacs have some empty ballast cars in their charge, but everything was quiet and shut down when I captured this shot. I had just run out of film and had to borrow my wife's auto-focus Vivitar point and shoot. SD9s 4341 and 4438 were built circa 1954-1956, and were part of the largest fleet of SD9s in the world. SW1500 #2681 dates from April 1973. |
