| NS did testing on C40-9Ws in addition to Conrail SD70Ms and SD80MACs in November 1998 (note research car NS 32 behind the locomotives). The train has stopped near the bottom of Starkey Hill and the water barrells are being filled with a garden hose prior to a "wet rail test" on the grade. The water was provided by a local business on Franklin Road the train has stopped behind. When I shot this picture I still found Dash-9s new and exciting... |
