| Two of the three SD70MACs have been run around and are now positioned on the south end of the 15 car passenger special tucked clear of the mainline at Curry. The train travels to this remote location (accessible only by rail, snow machine, or foot) to give cross country skiers four hours of exploring the true Alaskan wilderness. This is about 135 miles north of Anchorage and is an annual event. The entire consist is chartered by the Nordic Ski Association who markets and sells all the tickets. |
