Remarks & Notes

It's a 300 mile round trip from 'Armitage Grange' to the SVR. I had previously 'recce'd' this wonderful location but it was the usual story, right place, right locomotive, wrong weather. In the event, it was to be 3rd time lucky, the beautiful mackerel sky, wonderful exhaust and glancing late afternoon light all complimenting the marvelous 'Number 9'. This is possibly my favourite image (so far!) from the Severn Valley.
