| The huge and impressive LMS Fairburn-designed tanks were so numerous as to barely be noticed by enthusiasts in BR days. Their usual external appearance being dirty and woebegone. Two survived, both are stabled at the pretty and well worth visiting Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. It seems sad that they do not get 'loaned out' occasionally to other preserved lines. |
