Coal empties from Otter Tail Power's plant near Big Stone City, SD cruise west on what was once the Milwaukee Road's mainline to the Pacific Northwest. Much has changed along these tracks since the demise of the MILW - for example, traffic is down to about 3-6 trains per day and, west of Hettinger, ND, the MILW-era signals have been deactivated and completely ripped out in places.
