| Fast passenger train from Somosk?újfalu to Budapest. Due to a new rule MáV signs in the front of the engines have to be changed for H-MáVTR (UIC-International Union of Railways only gives permission for 5 characters). H means Hungary, TR means Trakció (traction). This is necessary because of MáV's recent privatization, based on which three subsidiary companies have been established. MáV-START (is the passenger division, which owns carriages; the EMUs and DMUs) MáV-Cargo (which owns the freight cars and operates freight traffic) MáV-Gépészet (Engineering) for servicing and repairing, and MáV-Traction (which owns the locomotives). MáV-START and MáV-Cargo rent locomotives from MáV-Traction to haul their trains. |
