The flagship of the Alaska Railroad's SD70MAC fleet, The Spirit of Alaska, leads a northbound Whittier to Anchorage extra freight over Twenty Mile River beneath threatening skies. With 8,300+ tons in tow, these two beautiful EMDs are working hard to keep the 82 car freight moving even on the relatively level alignment of the Alaska Railroad south end.
