Remarks & Notes

I was 16 and riding Amtrak No. 7, the Empire Builder, from Minneapolis to Seattle. The train is shown here pausing at Williston, ND. The paint on SDP40F #530 was so fresh that this could have been the unit's first run after being overhauled. These locomotives have always been my favorite passenger engines.
