    The face of heritage railroading is rapidly changing as a new generation moves in to carry the torch. Conductor Kara calls the shots on the White Mountain Central's hourly trains. Her regular post is at the front of the lead car, but here, we find her in the locomotive cab, having just assisted the engine crew in the loading and stacking of a fresh batch of cord wood.
