          Remarks & Notes
All aboard at Smith's Creek Depot! Weiser Railroad #1 is a replica Post-Civil War design American-style William Mason locomotive. It was built in 1932 at the Rouge Locomotive Shops in Detroit MI, from parts rescued from various locomotives. It is part of Henry Ford's Greenfield Village and is named for his friend, Thomas Edison. The village includes many famous homes from the industrial age, and was a pet project of Henry Ford's. The Weiser Railroad loops the 88-acre site, and at the time, shared this stop with Amtrak (whose trains ran outside the fence behind the caboose).
