A Union Pacific diesel locomotive # 6698, C 44 AC built by General Electric is seen here on the former 4 track Long Beach main line of the former Pacific Electric Railway. The train has just passed thru the PE’s old Amoco Junction. Amoco junction was so named for the old American Olive Company that used to be located near the Junction. It is interesting to note that the freight cars in this train are that of General American's Tank Train system of interconnecting tank cars.
