October, 1947. In years previous 3,000 people daily passed through the concourse of Baker Street station, which simmers here during a rare afternoon lull. Soon the quiet will become common place, and the station, once a stop for the Broadway Limited, will fall into near ruin until resurrected by an architectural firm in 1997.
