The westbound Bayard Local has just topped the .66% grade between Defiance and Earling at MP 433. 3 Geeps power this 36 cars train back towards Omaha, NE. This is ex-Milwaukee Road trackage that once ran from Green Island, IA to Council Bluffs, IA. The BNSF uses the track from Council Bluffs, MP 483, out to MP 384 near Bayard, IA.
