A B23-7 and a GP39-2, still in Santa Fe paint, stand watch over the parade of trucks entering Hobart Yard in Vernon CA. The Jersey barriers are painted yellow to direct tractor trailers through here. BNSF #4236 was delivered to the ATSF by GE Erie as #6379 in June of 1979 (part of Santa Fe's second order for this type of unit... eventually they would order 69 units in four batches). Two years after I snapped this, it was retired, along with the entire fleet of BNSF 4200s on April 1, 2007 and put up for auction.
