| It's Christmas Eve and a call to the trainmaster in Whitefish said not much would be running over the pass this day. After shooting a late running Amtrak 8 I was on my way to return the rented snowshoes to the Izaak Walton Inn when I ran into this eastbound manifest at the summit. I turned around and chased him east in a blinding snow squall on the east side of the divide. At least this train gave me a second try at getting a shot of a train at this most famous of locations on the ex-GN. The weather might be terrible, but at least the motive power consist offers a splash of color to this monochrome day |
