In the last few minutes of daylight, a Trona bound unit coal train gets underway after being tied down in the siding at Ansel, just south of Mojave. In several miles this train will leave the Mojave Sub behind, as it travels out the Lone Pine Branch to Searles, and interchange with the Trona Railway.
