| A pair of General Electric AC's lead a Skyline, UT to Barstow, CA coal load west down Soldier Summit at Detour station. It was at this point that the former 4% grade alignment east toward Soldier Summit was replaced with the new 2% Detour line change in Nov. 1913. The former D&RGW alignment ran primarily on the right of way occupied today by US Highway 6 (pictured at right). |
