High speed Alco! Well, not really. SIND Alco S2m #103 cruises down the track to pickup a cut of emtpy hoppers to take back to the Essroc plant in Speed. Both the locomotive and myself were moving at along at about 15mph when this shot was taken. Geared to allow for the maximum possible tractive effort, the 660hp Cummins powered unit has a top speed of 18-19mph.
