West Virginia Southern's lone unit, SW14 #1442, struggles up the two percent grade along Dunloup Creek out of Thurmond, West Virginia, on a dreary January day with maximum tonnage: three loads of pulpwood. R.J. Corman now operates this former Chesapeake & Ohio branchline.
