| Hot Garbage! This tiny little train is the hottest thing on the railroad this day. The coastal community of Whittier (60 miles south of Anchorage) had been cut off from the outside world for nearly two weeks account a massive rock slide blocking their one and only road access. Every dumpster in town was full and the community was overflowing with garbage account the trucks could not even access the city from Anchorage. The ARR stepped up to the plate for the desperate residents and ran this dedicated train since rail access was not blocked. The train delivered the trucks to Whittier, the railroad high-railed the driver in, he made is rounds, and the trucks were loaded back up and the train back in Anchorage in less than 12 hrs! Just another example of the ARR meeting its mission of serving the people of the great state of Alaska!
