| Brand new class 19E Bo-Bo electric has been signed off by the factory and is ready for delivery to its new owner, Transnet Freight Rail (TFR). The first five of these single cab dual voltage locomotives (3kv DC / 25kv 50Hz AC) are already undergoing extensive testing on TFR. A total of 110 will be built for service on the Ermelo - Richards Bay coal line. Photo taken with permission on a factory visit by the Railway Society of Southern Africa. |
