A section gang on the Huanan Narrow Gauge Coal Railway prepares for their evening meal on the outskirts of Tuoyaozhi, a village of about 10,000 people in Heilongjiang Province. Despite such amenities as the television antenna, judging from the smoke, the meal will be coal-fired, just like the railway's locomotives.
