| Under stormy skies FGW 165 105 approaches Cholsey with a service bound for Reading. With the announcement this week that the Great Western mainline will be electrified as far as Swansea including the line to Oxford, scenes such as this are now on borrowed time. Within the next 6 years or so this view will be destroyed with overhead lines plus supporting masts and most bridges will be rebuilt with parapets resembling the Berlin Wall |
