| The ARR's Fairbanks diesel shop is stuffed full of assorted locomotives. They aren't in here for work, but simply to keep warm. It's more than 20 degrees below zero outside at this northernmost of North American rail terminals. The Fairbanks Ops team makes a point to keep two geeps inside thawing at all times ready to be swapped out with a frozen sister in order to keep the freight moving around the clock. |
