Back on December 10th, 2008, the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern didn't have long to go. The CN deal was approved two weeks after this picture was taken. Here, we see a pair of the classic SD38-2's leading three cars, through Crest Hill, IL., on the eastbound N21.
