Not even a mile into its annual journey, Conrail's Browns Yard Santa Train comes within inches of hitting a car at the Bordentown Avenue (CR-615) grade crossing in Spotswood. The driver slowed for the flashing lights and bells, then sped up to beat the train, saw it coming and slammed on his brakes, only to stop on the rail. After the engineer leaned on the horn, the car turned to the right to allow the train to narrowly pass.
