| Fellow RP contributors Mike Bjork (in the red hat) and Stephen De Vight invited me to join them for a New Year's Day excursion to Portland. Even though it was a holiday and a celebration of the new year, the weather wasn't taking the day off: It was a typical Northwest winter day full of gloom and rain showers. Shortly after my arrival on Amtrak Cascades #501, we were on our way to Stumptown Coffee Roasters when we paused to capture a Yellow Line train trundling through the intersection at 5th & Burnside. |
