| JR Hokkaido local passenger train about to enter the summit tunnel on the Hakodate Line between Otaru and Oshamambe, near Ginzan Station. The inland Hakodate Line was once the main route from Sapporo to the south, but all through traffic now uses the water-level Muroran Line. Today only local trains and the Niseko Ski Express run over the steep grades on this portion of the Hakodate Line. |
