| Cars whiz by a Red Line train powered by two new Siemens Sharks. Not to be confused with the SD70, the brand-new S70's are rolled out and roaming the streets of Portland. An interesting fact about Portland new LRV's: they're "permanently" coupled pairs. The vehicles only have a cab on one end and the other end is a big windshield facing the other car. This increased capacity of each train by about 20 people as Portland only runs their trains in pairs. It's fun to sit facing the other car as other patrons in the opposing vehicle make faces and wave at you! |
