| Western Pacific SW9 601 was the first of WP's six of that model switcher. Built by EMD in May 1952, after the merger with the Union Pacific WP 601 was rebuilt into UP's SW10 pregram, becoming UP 1271. The engine was eventually sold to the Peoria & Pekin Union (#701), which was then renamed Tazewell & Peoria Railroad. |
