| Anshan is situated 55 miles southwest of Shenyang on the old South Manchurian Railway line. A single tramway route was opened in 1956 to provide transportation for the employees of the Anshan Steel Works. The city is heavily polluted by a massive steelworks that dominates the skyline. Anshan`s tramway line was closed in April 2003. |
