Merrillan, Wisconsin was known for the GB&W Alco's that passed through town every day, but the C&NW crossed the GB&W at grade just south of the depot. The C&NW line was a fair amount busier as it was the direct route from the Twin Cities-Twin Ports to Milwaukee and Chicago. Some interchange between the the C&NW and GB&W was also conducted at Merrillan. This is C&NW train ITPRA out of the Itasca yard at Superior, WI bound to Proviso yard in Chicago.
