Dark Skies Greet a Dark Horse
Storm clouds drop heavy rains over the Cascade foothills as the Portland & Western Eugene Hauler scares up a small flock of birds. After meeting Amtrak Coast Starlight #11, UP 8105, UP 8014 and NS 9682 are pulling 102 cars out of Shedd siding, now a mile behind the power. It's certainly interesting to see a Norfolk Southern "Black Horse" so far from home, about as far west as any Class I lines go.
