Remarks & Notes

New leaves adorn the silver birches that line the embankments at Whitwood Junction on the outskirts of Castleford. The soft hum of insects was momentarily disturbed by the passage of immaculate Class '8F' No.48151 as she hurried by towards Leeds with a York to Carnforth special this morning. Barely a hint of exhaust showed firing practice at its best.
