| GTW #6039. With asbestos abatement at hand, the crew at Steamtown decided to fire up the old gal and let her move on her own power first onto the turntable behind her and then into the back shop where the work will begin. Ha - don't we all wish? Built in June of 1925 by Baldwin Locomotive Works, #6039 reportedly has bad cylinder castings making it unlikely to be restored to operation. Plans are in effect to remove the asbestos and repair and /or replace the boiler jacketing. Lighting by Lerro Productions. |
