Surrounded: St. Maries River Railroad SW1200 No. 502 is literally surrounded by the life blood of its employer and owner. Logs and lumber have been the key to the roads existence since it started up thirty years ago this month, just weeks after the Milwaukee Road left “Lines West.” Today, the STMA is one of the last living examples of the Milwaukee in the west.
