| With thirteen cars of copper from the refinery at White Pine and 5 carloads of used RR ties, a pair of GP40s starts the trip west to Marengo Junction in Wisconsin. The Powderhorn Ski Area towers over the train with the lush greenery it sports in the off season. The WC GP40 (one of the last two operating) and the track of the White Pine Sub are likely both on borrowed time. The mine in Canada where the copper originates has ceased shipping annodes to White Pine for refining. |
