Starrucca Viaduct - D&H under it and EL over. In 1973 a railfan could just go there and wait for the next train. One was always coming. Today the D&H is torn up and there may be a "couple" NYS&W trains over it per week and 99% of them at night. Things change. But, on a gorgeous October afternoon in 1973, this photographer made the pilgrimage and enjoyed watching these EL E8's in freight service pull a train full of "antique" freight equipment up and over Gulf Summit. Did I mention the pair of EL F7A pushers [back-to-back]? Wish I could go back and watch it again!
