| A northbound Whitter-Anchorage freight train rolls out of the tunnel at Bear Valley as it begins to skirt the glacier-fed waters of Portage Creek on the way to the wye at Portage Junction where it will join the ARR mainline for the trip into Anchorage. The containers and cars on this train were delivered the day previous on the ARMS barge from the UP/BNSF interchange at Seattle and are being taken to Anchorage for distribution to various points throughout the state. |
