| As part of the C&TS 40th Anniversary Celebration C&TS K36 #487 was repainted and renumbered as 483. In the late 1960's Rio Grande 483 was repainted for a movie that was filmed on the line north of Chama.
After the film was made the Rio Grande left the two tone paint as is was since they were shutting down the Narrow Gauge Line. When the C&TS was formed and started taking delivery of locomotives and freight cars in 1970 the 483 was used to move all of the equipment from Antonito Colorado.
On Friday August 27 2010 a special freight train ran from Chama 4 miles up to near Lobato and back with several photo run-bys along the way. |
